It is a perfect mixture of onions, chana dal, dry red chillies which are fried in oil and blended well with tamarind and jaggery makes it spicy and tangy.
This delicious Onion chutney is made up with basic ingredients onions, chana dal, red chillies, tamarind and jaggery and is made in less than 10 minutes. It tastes well with idli, dosa, upma or appams.

Wet Masala
Dry Masala



How to make chutney?
Take 2 medium size Onions and chopped them finely
Heat the pan
Add 2 spoon Oil and let it heat
When oil is heated add 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
Put 3-4 dry Red Chillies and stir it
Add 2 teaspoon roasted Chana Dal
Stir it for 2 minutes
Then add chopped Onion and stir it continuously till onion becomes golden brown
Add 1 teaspoon Tamarind
Add 1 teaspoon Salt
Put 1 teaspoon Jaggery
Blend it to smooth
Take it out in bowl
Take tadka pan
Add 1 teaspoon Oil and heat it
Add 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds, 1 teaspoon Urad dal, pinch of hing, 1 dry Red Chilli, 4-5 Curry Leaves.
Pour this tadka on blended chutney
Ready to serve
